Sean Sigmon, SoHum Mountain Healing Resort's Head Chef

Chef Sean Sigmon

Sean Sigmon is a renowned vegan chef whose culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in his connection to the land and his spiritual journey. Raised in the heart of North Carolina, he honed his skills at his family’s restaurant, “Siggy’s,” where he learned the art of Southern cooking from a young age.

Sean’s passion for plant-based cuisine blossomed alongside his interest in Eastern philosophy, which he first encountered at a young age through his interest in Joseph Campbell world religions. This early exposure to the wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads profoundly influenced his worldview and his approach to food.

A  practitioner of yoga, Sean completed his 200-hour teacher training and deepened his understanding of holistic well-being at the renowned Kushi Institute. His time at The Art of Living in Boone, NC, where he served as Executive Chef, further enriched his spiritual journey, allowing him to reconnect with his meditation practice and explore the healing principles of Ayurvedic cooking.

Inspired by his agrarian mindset, Sean believes that true health and happiness are inextricably linked to the quality of our food and our relationship with the environment. He is committed to sourcing local, organic ingredients and showcasing the vibrant flavors of seasonal produce. His dishes are a testament to his respect for farmers and the hard work they put into the land, reflecting a deep connection to the natural world.

Beyond the kitchen, Sean enjoys playing the drums and experimenting with woodwinds. He finds inspiration in the beauty of nature, art, and music, and is deeply grateful to be back in the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by such profound beauty.

Suhanee Chudasama, Ayurvedic Practitioner at SoHum Mountain Healing Resort

Suhanee Chudasama, BSN, RN, CAP

Suhanee’s path has always been one of integration — of heart and science, tradition and innovation, silence and service. She began studying classical Ayurveda with Vasant Lad in Albuquerque nearly a decade ago, and later deepened her healing journey through nursing, where she’s spent the past five years caring for patients in high-acuity clinical settings.

Her work bridges ancient wisdom with clinical insight, informed by years on the hospital floor and time spent helping build a medical startup. She listens deeply – to the body, to the story, to what’s unspoken, and brings that same presence to each guest at SoHum.

At SoHum, Suhanee blends clinical expertise with Ayurvedic wisdom to support guests on their healing journeys. Her integrative approach brings together the best of Eastern and Western medicine, offering compassionate, comprehensive care grounded in connection and trust.

Suhanee is nourished by time in nature, sharing space with her loved ones, meaningful conversations, and travel that reminds her of the beauty in all things. Her approach is gentle, attentive, and rooted in the belief that healing begins with connection — to ourselves, to the earth, to one another, and to the sacred intelligence within.
